Delayed post

So I was going to do a post on what actually goes on at an Indian wedding, since so many people ask! Complication: the actual wedding isn't until Saturday. >_> Real post coming Monday probably.

Well, I know I asked. But here's a question: So Indian (or Guyanese I guess) folks have big weddings. They also like to save money. (It's not a stereotype if it's always true.) Please reconcile these statements.

(You're getting hit with this question because I have been hearing an awful lot about weddings lately.)

While you're in the most populated region of the country, I'm in Kingsville. The irony is not lost on me. :(

Senator Church: They probably are saving their money just for such occasions. You have to spend it somewhere, after all. (Unless you contend that they just like to see big numbers in their bank accounts. I'm cool with that explanation too.) :)

That's a real nice Monday post you made!

Clarification: Yeah, so what I meant is why not spend the money on a honeymoon/new car/save it for retirement/other? I dunno, it just seems to me that a wedding is one day and the money used on it could buy much more interesting stuff. (interesting to me, that is.)

Hey, we may be cheapskates in general, but there's a limit to cheapskating. XD Weddings are considered to be incredibly important and significant events, and therefore worth spending a lot on.
